Major Trouble

Kinda went a little spike crazy, but I swear my intentions were good! I was inspired by the great new dress by Rebel Hope, another great release at faMESHed, and I was drawn to the great olive color which seemed to work so well with the fun metal details. I was able to find just the right shoe, another one of those great multicolor change options from Redgrave, this one has a killer spike of a metal heel and cute metal pyramid spikes scattered all over the shoes. You get silver and gold options with these too, so they can be a fun addition to your shoe wardrobe, whether you wear them in pink and purple or just basic black!

 

The hair bow was a gatcha goody from Auxiliary at The Arcade, I am pretty sure you can still find these at the main store. I won a mustard color one but I was able to 'select face' of the bow part and tint it to a brownish olive that really pulls the shoes and dress together. My collection of booN hairpieces is once again the perfect setting for my exciting bow topper, I have managed to throw a few together and get some fun height, a few stray tendrils and a great braid across the front. Finally, the earrings, another  faMESHed find, are some more scandalous metal spikes, created by Maxi Gossamer to add a great finishing touch!

Counting Down

It is almost here... and I expect it has already arrived for many of you. What a great year 2012 was for SL fashion, and in particular mesh fashion. StyleCard: Rebel Hope Milan Boots

Sure it's Summer, but what the heck... let's wear us some boots!

Rebel Hope Designs released some really nice ones recently, the Milan Suede Scrunch Boots. The boots come in a great range of hot and neutral shades, and they have a nice look and easy fit. My favorite little detail is the dangling heart charms on the ankle, very sweet. Inspired to take mine out dancing, I threw on the Selfish Dress from Bijou, in a monochromatic Python print. Simple black accessories like the wrist band from ETD and the Boho Leather Necklace from (luc) play an understated role next to a mane of wild curls from Analogue Dog.

StyleCard: Rebel Hope

It's a name that I have known since my earliest days in Second Life, Rebel Hope and her fantastic ballgowns, costumes, tuxedos and bridal gowns. So beautifully rendered and well made that they earned a reputation as being the height of elegance on that special day for a bride-to-be. Rebel, like many talented designers, has branched out to offer her clients lovely accessories and footwear to go along with her creations. It was when I saw she had released some new adorned pumps that I decided to take a closer look at the footwear and Rebel surprised me with a most incredible gown to wear with the very special shoes, and with my own special day coming in the not too distant future it certainly got me thinking of just how important a gown and shoes can be when making a bride feel like a real princess.

The shoes, named Samantha Bridal Sculpted Pumps, are almost too pretty to hide under a delicious gown like the Tabitha Cathedral Bridal Gown from Rebel Hope Designs, but Rebel was sure to offer the Samanthas in additional colors to allow them to be worn with all sorts of fancier fare or costumes. The elegantly embellished pumps boast a sleek classic shape, a satiny finish, and a delightful wisp of feathers and metallic curlicues on the toe (the black with red feathers is especially stunning and would be great for a darker bride or costume, you can see them here).


Though I have zero experience in the area of bridal gowns, I was blown away by the completeness of the Tabitha set. It contains pretty much everything a girl could want for her special day; an exquisite gown with full cathedral train and layers of mesh, sweet sculpted sleevelets, long elegant gloves, stockings, 2 veil options, lace panties, beautiful pearl accessories, and matching basic shoes. Just get the something old and the something blue, and hopefully that very special gentleman and you are all set to take the plunge.

One final accessory is all I needed to make this look very special, my engagement ring, a lovely 4.00 Carat Serenity Princess Cut ring from Kingsgate courtesy of one exceedingly special man.

Black Swan & More

One of the most thrilling fashion show experiences in recent memory was participating in the Black Swan show for the Rezzables Group, with Timeless Models. The show featured creations inspired by the Black Swan sim. And I was fortunate enough to wear this amazing ensemble by Rebel Hope Designs called The Wishbringer.

Rebel was kind enough to speak with me directly about how the look should be styled and that was when she introduced me to some amazing fetish boots by Lizziey Whittenton. I really marvel at the construction of these, and yes... not my usual style, but totally appropriate for this amazing costume by Rebel Hope. The Aubrey Boots by Whittentons are daringly high, laced to perfection with all the metal studs, rivets and accents stunningly textured. Have to appreciate this kind of workmanship.
