Into The Night

I had only intended to do four posts on the new Maitreya Night Life Collection, but I am just having so much fun creating new looks with these clothes. Here is post number five! I am wearing the incredible Frenzy Party Dress which I blogged previously on New Years Eve, but this time I changed it up and threw it on over a pair of the awesome Maitreya Couture Leggings, with the built in footwear.

 

Worth mentioning, the beautiful Ava skin from Belleza, I loved it so much in the Pale that I decided I needed a darker option too, so I am wearing the Tan in this post, nothing wrong with a little self tanner, right? These lace accessories from League are also very special, I love the contrast between the delicate and feminine pieces and the edgy leggings and flashy dress... in a strange way they really work well together as I go Into The Night.

Waiting For The Night

If you watch Project Runway you know that there are a million ways to drape fabric and make a decent looking dress, but in SL... true draping of a mesh garment, making it look soft and realistic, and rigging it to move well on the body is without a doubt harder than any reality TV challenge. Maitreya does it well, so well that I find the new Mignon Evening dress perfectly delicious! From the way it softly bunches up on the bustline and flows down to the hem, the way it curves ever so softly around your back and hugs your curves all the way down, it is really something special.

 

The Calgary Clutch is back again, this time in a natural leather hue with variations of the same color for the accent detail panels. I also brought back the very sexy Maitreya Gold Liaison shoes, the warm chocolate shade was perfect with the pile of beaded accessories from League. If you read parts one, two and three of this series of posts on the Night Life Collection you may have noticed that I am showcasing the new items mixed with other Maitreya fashions, I think it is so important to appreciate that you don't have to look father than some of the items you already own to enjoy your favorites from this new collection!

Tonight I'm Lovin' You

Back again, with more of that Night Life that I am so crazy about, you can also check out Part 1 and Part 2 for further proof of this. This time I am celebrating the arrival of an amazing leather mini skirt, I promise you your butt will thank you. As with all of Maitreya's Mesh garments, when there is a bum involved it is a great looking one. I am certain I will wear this one again and again. As far as Jackets go the Magan Jacket is high up on the awesome scale, I love that it comes in Suedes and Wools, the double breasted button front, belted waist and cuffs, and a fantastic shaped upright collar.

 

 

In the land of accessories we have once again the Shiki Shoes, here in the black strap variation, I love the texture of the platform with its holey metal mesh over leather look, so sexy, and a new clutch that is sleek and modern and perfect for stowing your lip gloss, iPhone and a credit card when you hit the club. The Calgary Clutch comes in subtle tone on tone colors and eye popping bright combinations, what can I say other than... lovin' it!

Come Closer

I love the Night Life, so I am back again with my second in a series of posts featuring the new collection from Maitreya. The real stars of the collection are the Shiki Platforms, I showed them to you in my previous post, now we can get down to business and talk a bit more about what this great style has to offer. There are 9 different strap colors for the shoes, with each individual pair purchased you select the strap color and you get an assortment of 10 platform styles to mix and match with the straps, or you can buy the fatpack and get all 9 strap colors and 30 platform styles. I am no math wiz, but that is like a billionty possible combinations.
 

 

Another fabulous feature of the shoes is that you can make them disappear... 'what?' you say, yes, now the bare feet inside your shoes are your bare feet to wear alone too! Completely brilliant, I know! Perfect for those nights when you leave the club and suddenly decide to skinny dip with your date, you 'slip off' those amazing platform shoes and are left with perfectly manicured toes. Very impressive. So even though I am only giving you a tease of the shoes in this post, they will be back again in the next one, I promise!

Take Me Home Tonight

I am so overwhelmed, in the best possible way! Maitreya has just had its full release of the Night Life Collection, and it is fantastic! There is just so much to share that I am forced (OK, I am more than willing) to break up my tribute into a series of posts. This is the first of the bunch, and I have titled it 'Take Me Home Tonight', no real reason... but the song popped into my head while I was styling this outfit, so here it is.
 

 

Things I love about this look; the muted earthy tones in the sweater that are picked up by the stunning leather leggings by Maitreya, the amazing new Shiki shoes with their unusual platforms and abundance of interesting texture, the accessories by League that pick up the colors of the outfit perfectly, and finally the zipper accented bag from 'The Boutique' that was a total score for only 100 Linden!

Wear Me Out

A blog post featuring a couple of fun looks, perfect to get me through the weekend, and a little plea for all of you fashion fans... I am so in love with the recent mesh releases from Baiastice, I keep coming back to them and wearing them again and again, which is a big deal, because I have so many things to choose from. I am mixing up some items from FaMESHed and a find from the 'With Love' Hunt, hairs from Argrace; new and old, and even a freshly released jacket from Erratic that is really two.

 

This first look has the feel of something you might want to wear to a holiday cocktail party, do something unexpected and stay away from dresses and skirts and go for some classic shorts paired with tall boots. The shorts, of course, are from House of Fox, and I have blogged them before, paired with the new richly textured Emma Jacket from Baiastice, and the amazing Monaco Nights Necklace from Maxi Gossamer, they become suitable party wear (both at the current round of FaMESHed). The clutch is a Just Design goody from the 'With Love' Hunt,  and the new mesh hat with hair from Argrace makes me so happy, I love the versatility of a color change hat!

 

More Argrace was the starting point for the second look, though this style is an older one, I like to think this outfit would be great for a little holiday shopping or visiting with friends. If you are in the market for a great leather jacket, this newly released Vanity Jacket from Erratic does the trick, double time, you get both an open and closed version, it looks buttery soft and fits really well! The new mesh gloves from Baiastice are a great add on in blue, and the Celoe Chardonnay pants in the same hue add color and contrast to the orangey Pecan shade of the jacket. The bag is from DDL, they have a nice little selection of handbags and satchels, worth a look.

 

A special shoutout for Dutch Touch, a wonderful store that will be closing at the end of this month. I strongly urge you to make a final visit and be sure to pick-up some of the great system tops, lingerie and hosiery, these items hold up amazingly well and the quality is fantastic. Keep in mind that mesh on mesh layering can be tricky, but throwing on a great detailed under-piece like the Lizz Top I am wearing under my jacket, is a great option, and Iki Ikarus has a really great selection available!
