Pretty Periquita...

So I begged Erpla Prieto of Periquita Shoes to please show me the new things she has been up to and she was generous enough to send over her 2 newest. I have to confess that it was Anessa who saw Erpla's flickr and tipped me off, she's just too damn good at finding shoes! First is the Bootie Shoes, a sculpty and shapely design. Now the best part is that the colors are bright, wild and fun. I'm ready to push my blacks, brown, and navy to the back of the closet and welcome the warmer months, and that means bright colors. For now I think I'll ease in with my feet! Just take a look below at the selection, but I must warn you, these are not color combinations or textures for the meek!

The Fat Dolly is chunky and equally as colorful, with a bit of a peak from the inside lining on the top of the shoe. Shiny and slick looking, these are unique and flashy. Just like the Bootie shoe, these are in some pretty funky and fun color combinations! I played it on the safer side with a chocolate and black combo for the full picture..go figure, but that doesn't mean I won't spice it up later! Check out Periquita In World!

StyleCard: Periquita Lolipolita Boots

Shades of grey don't have to be boring, not when you have a fun pair of boots to complete your outfit. The Lolipolita Boots from Periquita Shoes don't just have a fun name, they also have a lot of personality. A sleek rubberlike finish and optional accent bow on the toe are unique, but the color change HUD that allows you to retexture everything from the sole, heel, trim, main 2-tone body and even that teeny bow, make these a nice choice if you are looking for a versatile and cute boot update for your Fall wardrobe.

You can find these great boots at Periquita.

StyleCard: Pick Your Poison

I love a good collaboration! So much negativity around lately with creators hurling accusations and dmca allegations at one another, it is nice to find a pair that have combined their creative talents to produce something truly special. Squinternet Larnia, Donna Flora, has garnered some great attention lately for her spectacular dresses and collectible jewelry, at least I seem to be collecting a ton of it. She wanted to take her jeweled creations and make them into footwear fabulousness, and it seems she found the perfect partner to embark on this project with.

Erpla Prieto, Periquita Shoes, has been making her wonderful and quirky sculpted shoe-ness for a while now. It seems to me that this was a match made in fashion heaven, and the four styles created by this pair do not disappoint. The Bella Donna Poison shoes are jewelry for the feet, with amazing detail and elegant style.

These foot-in-shoe dazzlers come with a HUD that naturally allows you to custom match your skin tone and select toenail polish color. Though using the custom color selector for your skin tone is simple enough to figure out, matching your tone can be a bit tricky and might take a few minutes using a color palate window and light/dark slider bar, but you can lock in your matches with a save feature that is very handy. The Bella Donna Poison #4 style comes with the added bonus of color change panels on the toe to match your Donna Flora (or any) wardrobe perfectly.

Be sure and look for these at the at Donna Flora, Periquita and the Bella Donna store.

Periquita Returns

It has been a long time since I have had the pleasure of chatting with Erpla Prieto, the creator of those quirky irresistible shoes under the store name Periquita. She contacted me last night to share some happy news, and that she was going to be rejoining SL a bit more with multiple new products planned. The first release hit the shelves last night, the Chicky Chic Pumps.

A cute little pump with that signature Perquita styling, and as always, released in a tantalizing series of shades. I love the uber pointy and hand molded appearance of these shoes, with a nice leather texture that is reminiscent of ostrich. I am looking forward to what comes next, welcome back Erpla!

Visit Periquita for some happy shoe-ness.

StyleCard: Periquita Steps

Periquita has offered us another sweet and unique style, or two. The S-Steps and Q-Steps are funky chunky pumps crafted with the same wonderful sculptural quality and fabulous textures we are now used to from creator Erpla Prieto. They have an almost reptile skinned look but in a smooth and subtle way. Easy shoes to wear with casual looks, and definitely fun.

Beautiful and bright colors with just a hint of shine on the toe. Nicely shaped heels and I love the texturing of the sole.

The Q-Steps version features a cute little T-strap variation for an even sassier look. I went for monochromatic and paired mine with the latest from DCNY Clothing Co. the Beryl Dress, which is fun and flirty, and the Aradia Hair from TRUTH with its pretty color change flowers.

The Stuff;

Shoes - Periquita S-Steps, Black

Skin - Skin - Gala Phoenix JUNE Sundust (Frex)

Hair - Truth Aradia

Dress - DCNY Beryl Dress (includes Belt)

Hello Heavy Heels!

New, or soon to be released at Periquita, the Hello Heavy Heels by Erpla Prieto. Funny story about Erpla, when her avatar was very new to designing in SL, she stopped me while I was wandering around Fashion Mode 2 (Anyone remember that place?) and asked if I would look at a shoe she had sculpted. She had no clue who I was, and I told her I would be happy to look at them. They were a bit rough, but even back then I loved the playful quality and color so much that I encouraged her to try selling them, and sent her off to Retrology to get a very small stall in the Obscure Finds Flea Market. I then sat back and watched her creations get better and better, and I am so glad to be able to share her latest with you.

OK, so about these Hello Heavy Heels, another very quirky and cute pump, this one with a very distinct curled heel. The shoes are scripted to let you mix and match heel and main body shades, or even wear them as a full black pump. And yeah my hair is a bit out there, it's a new one from booN, but that one hanging curl felt so right with these fun shoes.

Visit Periquita here or at her big fancy Retrology Shop!

TooToo Good

Erple Prieto will be releasing another great style today, the TooToo Shoe. It's a heavy round toed pump with a fun criss cross strap and some very unique fabrications and combinations. A real retro flavor with it's chunky sole and generous fit, and options like polka dots only add to the charm. Periquita's previous releases featured a seriously pointed toe, so these are a nice change of pace, and a throw back to some of Erpla's earliest releases. There are numerous color combinations and polka dot and plain versions available. If things go according to plan these will hit the shelves by tonight, so be sure and look for them very soon.

Visit Periquita at Retrology or Fuzzy.

The Stuff; Redgrave Skin, ETD Aveda Hair, Ingenue Skirt, Top of GiMa Dress, Um Mode Necklace, Kurotsubaki Ring, Detour Hair Bow.

Hello Dolly!

A couple new versions of the Dolly shoes have hit the shelves at Periquita, the cute shoe shop by creator Erpla Prieto. The latest styles carry on the tradition of bright color and simple fun footwear that have cute names; Tie Me Up Dollys and Wrap Me Up Dollys.

The Tie Me Up pumps are patent leather capped toe confections. They come in great shades, 7 in all; the White with Red Toes (shown above), Blue, Green, Light Green, Orange Pink and White - all with Black Patent Leather Toes. While I love all the colors, it seems like forever since I have seen a capped toe pump, I love this look for that alone.

The Wrap Me Ups are another great looking shoe by Erpla, same shape as the Tie Me Ups - but with 3 'ribbons' wrapping the toe, and an adorable sculpted bow. I so dig the teal interiors on these shoes, and the fun colors really inspired me to dig in my inventory and pull a fun teal accented look together.

Weighing in with 8 great color combos; I am wrapped up in the Yellow, below are Crazy Barbie Pink, Cyan, Green, Pink Stripes, Purple and Soft Pink ('Bug' not shown). Some of the Wrap Me Up pumps have a matching heel, while others have a dark heel - and they all look great!

These shoes are so much fun to wear, every girl show have some! Get yours at Periquita.

Also wearing; 1. Minnu Skin, Armidi Hair, 'The Kitty Box' Dress, SiniStyle Hair Rose, LoLo Bag and Accessories by Second Mirage. 2. Minnu Skin, Armidi Hair, /artilleri/ Tank Top, TOSL Skirt, !BF! Necklace, Caroline's and Earthtones Bangles, Orchid Dreams Belt.

..and that point being, that here is a flat with a point! The newest from Periquita is the Funny Girl Flats. With all the style of a pump, but without the height. Color Therapy

Sometimes it is necessary to inject some color into your day. Days like that call for fun shoes that are whimsical and come in punched up bright shades. Erpla Prieto of Periquita Shoes does that better than anyone, and it is a no-brainer to reach for some of her fun footwear whenever that need arises. Her latest release, the Mary Squares, are a sweet chunky MaryJane with an adorable upturned toe and button detail on the strap.

I am wearing the oh-so-happy Magenta. Also shown are; Mint, Purple and Yellow... but there are 9 equally fantastic colors in all. Check them out at Periquita Shoes.

I am also wearing PXL Skin, ETD Hair, Dress & Stockings from OAHARU, Necklace and Earrings by Atelier AM, Bracelets by FBG (Fresh Baked Goods).

The Red Shoe

Erpla Prieto of Periquita Shoes was generous enough to send over a folder of the cutest footwear to me last week. I have to admit, as soon as I opened it I went straight for the item called Super Dolly - Red. I love and adore red shoes! To quote Hans Christian Andersen, "There is really nothing in the world that can be compared to red shoes!"

These darlings are easily described as cute and sassy. The rounded toe, black heel, and subtle stripes make the Super Dolly a new staple to my inventory and Perquita Shoes a new stop on my shopping route. Periquita Shoes can be found at Lame Designs Shopping Center.

A Week of Top-Fives: Day Five, Flats

Flats are the perfect balance in dressing up that casual look, or dressing down an outfit that may be a bit too glam for what you need. It should be noted that I deliberately didn't choose plain flats: so Fri.day's Basic Flats, Armidi's Sasche flats and Shiny Things Saturday flats were all left off the list, but I do love them all and wear them a lot.

Cherry is a new-to-me store by Pink Outfitters, and I adore these little flats with the bow. Now, I have no idea who Alice Cullen is, but these flats were named after her. I googled and saw "Twilight" so I clicked off. Twilight makes my head hurt just to think about it.

ETD is basically dead, which makes me sadcakes. But these Buckle flats, which come in tons of colours, are perfect casual flats and I still wear them all the time.

Shiny Things, another store where the owner seems sadly MIA, made these awesome ballet flats a couple of years ago when sculpties first came out to replace a previous pre-sculpty pair. There's still not a pair of simple ballet flats anywhere else that I like better.

Pixel Mode's Freya flats are another pair of buckled flats, and they're really gorgeous. The textures are fantastic, and the buckle is so well done. I got these at the shoe fair, when I bought a pair of pumpkin-coloured flats. It turns out the brown was a freebie included with every colour you bought there!

My favourite pair of all time is these Periquita Funny Girl flats. The new and improved version is colour-changeble in way more colours than the original fatpack came in (yay!) and they're just perfect with jeans or even a nice business suit.

Stay tuned for Boots tomorrow (hopefully)!

Spring Sprung, Finally.

Yay! I am so happy that the work of changing Retrology over to Spring has been completed. I was getting so tired of the snow and drab, but all that is gone now and it's blooms of color all around. Part of my Spring ritual involved a bit of cleaning for my bulging 'to review' folder, and that's when I remembered these sweet floral sandals that I have been hanging on to for months. Today seemed like the perfect day to share them.

These Flower Strap Mules by Luly are just too sweet. They look as if they have been made from twisting vines and pretty flowers, and I love the way the provided foot shape works with them - a nice balanced fit no squashed toes or wonky arch. The set of 3 pairs comes with matching flower necklaces, and though I am showing you the green versions - they also come in Black and Sepia with various flower colors.

Visit the Luly Shop for these and other adorable & innovative sandals - I would have blogged them all but I am busy taking a nap in a flower bed!

Oh! and in case you hadn't heard - I would love to invite you all to visit Retrology to participate in the ongoing Spring/Easter Egg hunt... over 50 eggs with free, 0L and 1L goodies from vendors like /artilleri/, Ingenue, Violet Voltaire, Periquita Shoes and Sin Shoes... free shoes? OMG! The hunt continues until midnight SLT tomorrow. Happy hunting!

Time for a little catch up, and a chance to show you all the best of the latest from quite a few talented creators. First Up, more releases from Bella Donna, that shoe collaboration between Donna Flora's Squinternet Larnia and Periquita Shoes Designer, Erpla Prieto. StyleCard: Donna Flora, Head to Toe

I am a huge fan of Donna Flora, the clothes are incredibly unique and well drawn. Recently Donna Flora creator Squinternet Larnia collaborated with Erpla Prieto of Periquita Shoes to create the Bella Donna footwear collection, a beautiful range of shoes with Jewelry accents.

The Latina Outfit from Donna Flora comes complete with footwear and a rosette adorned chignon hair piece to be worn with hairbase skins, making this a complete outfit worth investing in. Once again a simple pump gets dressed up with those signature jewelry touches and a rich golden sole and heel. The dress is elegant and sexy at the same time, the daring back features a beautiful black lace insert. If you are a fan of Donna Flora, or if you would like to take a closer look at some of her great clothing and accessories, be sure to visit her main store soon!
