Get Fameshed

Talk about having to be On Your Toes! So many great new things this week, I need a few more of me just to keep up. But FaMESHed re-opened last night in a new location, with a great open new build, and I just couldn't resist having a little 'me-me-me' time today, pulling together a few looks peppered with the newness and worn with the also newly released Suave Wedges from Maitreya.

 

I am such a sucker for anything leather from Fanatik, after falling in love with their minis and pencil skirts I was so excited to see the Leather & Lace Dress, worn here in Nude, a sleek fitted dress, with a cleverly designed back zipper (an inverted pleat), that reduces the distortion of the mesh . The touch of lace on the small cap sleeves adds a sophistocated touch, and the new Collide style from exile was the perfect topper for this look. Accessories that made the cut are hammered silver hoops from Mandala, silver watch from Redgrave and ladylike clutch from ORTA. For the finale to this vanilla sweet perfection I added the Suave Wedges in Pearl on a layered wood sole, from Maitreya, these are really perfect and come in rigged and unrigged versions.

The Secret Store brings us more of its delightful separates with the FaMESHed release of its Sweet Sheer Tops, just the righ amount of soft sheerness over solid color and accent ruffled collar with skinny bow tie. This tucked top that suits high waisted style bottoms, like these trousers from ISON, also show off the socked version of the Maitreya Suave Wedges in White, the zebra-like wood sole on this pair brings the graphic combination of pink, black and white all together. The mane event here is the new Wasabi Pills style, Amelie, with its wide headband and retro feel. Such a fun style!

 

Finally, it was the flamingo pink hued Ombre Hemingway Shirt from Emery, and the cute denim mini from tee*fy, that rounded out this trio of looks. The curvy shape of the skirt is all sorts of fantastic! I added the FaMESHed released boho jewelry from Maxi Gossamer, the customizable color combinations (shown here with red & slate), worked like a charm. Back to my addiction to clutch purses, this artistic design from Handverk, the Palette Purse in Rose, and the neat twist here is the Maitreya Suave Wedges are in Ash Green, which really work well as a denim stand-in!

Fall Romance

Sometimes the best romance is the promise of romance yet to come. As Fall hits its stride in SL it means that the Fall 2012 Collections are ripe for the harvest, and Celoe is poised to release a truly wonderful collection in the next few days. I was fortunate enough to get a sneak peek and gravitated instantly to the beautiful Poppy Dress, in many solid shades and prints inspired by the glory of galaxies far far away. What better way to share these gowns than surrounded by falling leaves and the sunlight dancing between them as they fall.

Five Easy Pieces

I have never been the type to attach an accessory to every possible point or layer random items just because I can, instead dressing my avatar is as easy as 1, 2, 3... 4, 5.  In the same spirit as the popular cooking show 'Five Ingredient Fix', I decided to attempt three looks that have only five clothing and accessory components to them. The basis for each of these looks include the newly released rigged mesh jeans from The Secret Store and brand new footwear by Donna Flora. That left only three additional items per outfit, not as easy as you might think, but still fun!

 

My first look today is a colorful mash-up with a seasonal feel, inspired by the great Hello/Goodbye Floral Bag by DDL here, the soft sunny peach color of the denim and bold blue of the Donna Flora Ermes Pumps work well with the beautiful green shade of the sweater. My final touch was the skinny chocolate colored scarf from Maitreya. The very casual mix of elements here is complimented by the All For Love tresses by Exile, this style is a new release for the current edition of My Attic at The Deck, I love the softly flowing shape of this rigged mesh style.

 

I love the look of the rigged mesh Leather Biker Jacket from Grasp, it is one of those stores that, sadly, I keep forgetting is there, and when I do visit again I always find something neat, this jacket was no exception. Though the color is described as brown, I found it black enough to go perfectly with the black Rise Skinny Jeans from The Secret Store and these grey Ermes Boots from Donna Flora. For a pop of color underneath I added a Maitreya Bra Top and completed this rock and roll five-some with a funky long necklace from Maxi Gossamer, complete with peace sign.

 

Things take a considerably sweeter turn when I make three of the five in pretty pinks, from the pastel high waisted jeans in the Candy shade and Pink Ermes Boots, and the soft cropped look of the cardigan sweater. To add some interest I wore a wrinkled and tucked tank from Dutch Touch, and the amazing Ceramic Flower Headpiece from Piddidle, another goodie from My Attic. The outfit has a touch of Hollywood glamour and the ease of casual separates, five more reasons that less can be more.

Call Me Miss Cleo

 

Bright vibrant color and sexy shapes are the theme of the day. Inspired by some of the amazing goodies at the current installation of Collabor88, I pulled out all the stops and glammed it up with some great accessories and fringed hairstyles reminiscent of the diva of all divas, Cleopatra. Sure it is a little early for Halloween, but that doesn't mean we can't sink a little costumed flavor into our style.

 

The first piece of this puzzle was the fun patterned leggings, newly released from Baiastice, they demanded attention and after seeing the lips & lipstick adorned necklaces from Maxi Gossamer (out now at Collabor88) the colors just seemed so perfect. I grabbed a pair of ISON's latest footwear, the shoes have cute laces and a wedge heel, both can be color changed and allowed me to pick up some of the color from the pants, these are another Collabor88 steal. I rounded out the look with an ISON corset top in soft minty green, some pink armbands from an old Emery item, and some crazy long nails for extra drama. Experimenting with SL make-up layers is quickly becoming my new favorite thing, it wasn't long before I found the Cleo eye make-ups from a.e.meth adding in the heavily shaped and super fat fringed Keeley hairstyle by LeLutka, I was ready to climb the pyramids in style!



For my next look I went for more brights, and extended the Cleopatra theme with the Cleo Hair from LeLutka, the Cleo Jewelry from Donna Flora, a set with a wicked high golden collar necklace and a cuff bracelet with attached ring. The mesh leggings by Maitreya offer a couture foot option, so shoes are not neccesary, they add a unique sexy shape to the bottom of the leg. I am also wearing a new skin, I am loving the Jen skins made by Nena Janus at League, she sells the richer lip shade make-up layers, that I have worn with both of these looks, and I am so in love with the bold color options!
