My New Years: caLLie cLine and Yabusaka

Happy New Year Shoe lovers! Yes, this is a combo post. It's about some sweet and sassy boots and a very gorgeous dress, keep reading for more...

The dress in question is the Divine dress by Callie Cline, which is only available at the Black Swan Sim, and the boots are the white boots from Yabusaka Loon of Yabusaka. The boots not only come various colors, although I really loved the color of the white, but they have options for removing the cute little charm.

Now that you know the subject of my affection, let me tell you some of the details. First off the Divine dress has some wonderful features. There are three different choices in skirt styles, with the mini, the long dress and then the extra full Bubble Skirt. With options that include different tops (with or without shrug) and gem color changing earrings, shrug broach, ring and bracelet this is a dress that doesn't disappoint. One of the very coolest things is that there are small colored gems on the bodice and back of the dress, which you can change the color of by simply editing your jacket layer with a tint!

What a great dress for a New Year's bash, and I swear the long version would make a perfect wedding dress. Visit Black Swan for the dress and Yabusaka for the boots!

Shown here is the divine dress in the other options available. Many many choices! Enjoy!

Over the Moon

A quickie but a goodie! I ran into Leeza Catteneo today and she was wearing the most adorable moon boots. She was kind enough to drop me the LM and off I went to scoop up a pair of these Moonboots from Blood Royal, a new (to me) store. Created by Emo Biedermann, the boots attach at foot and lower leg and are unisex with a resize script. I scaled mine down 10% on each part to get them to a slightly more feminine but still super stompy size. They come in a range of 6 colors and are really affordable priced at under 200 L a pair!

Get stompin' to Blood Royal for yours.

The stuff; Redgrave Skin, Hat/Hair by ::69::, Vest by COCO, Cardigan by En Svale, Black Ribbed Leggings by DP yumyum, Armwarmers by Maitreya.

EIRIS Ladies Footwear at Styles of edo

A new partnership has blossomed in the Tyche home of Styles of edo headquarters, presenting the EIRIS Shoe Collection by HAYSURIZA. The first release includes 3 styles; a Classic Pointed Pump, a Cross Strapped Pump and an Ankle Strap Pump. They are dubbed 'Fashion Model Favorite' and I can certainly affirm that the use of traditional prims in these styles really agree with the fast rez rates needed for runway work. Each style is available in 8 slick shades. Releases will be coming at a steady pace so be sure to visit the Main Shop soon.

Special thanks to edo Tone for requesting to use my photography for some in store posters, I am very flattered. :)

I adored these Fussy Boots and the matching Fussy Handbag, which are available in several colors! I'll keep my rambling brief and just tell you to go take a look when you have some time. Visit Fussy InWorld.

Happy Holidays & Biddle Boots

It's never been a secret that Nessa is way more classier than I am. I mean case in point, take a look at our holiday cards...she's sophisticated and glam, and all the more creative I can get is to sit on Santa's chair in my panties...oh well, it's the cards I was dealt. :) Also, since I'm blabbing, I'd just like to show off my Biddles for a minutes, as in my Biddle Boots by Valentine Biddle. These are the red version of the Pirate boots as shown here. So a very Happy Holidays to all our Readers, and if you are waiting for Santa tonight, I hope he delivers just what you are wishing for! New Muism Pirate boots

Last week Icemocolo from Muism dropped me his latest footwear in the form of the Pirate boots. At first I didn't know what to expect from them, considering they were classed as Pirate boots. I put them on and started to shoot, throwing on a few pieces from Muism for good measure as I always love the clothes from there, and I thought I would see what matches these boots.

I came up with this ensemble as seen below. The latest jeans release from Muism, the VSL jeans, in the damaged style, combined with one of my favorite items in the Yeti coats. Now the first thing that hit me as the sculpty shoes rezzed was the script messages coming on the screen. Now this is silent to others, so you needn't worry, but it is my only gripe with these boots, however that gripe was very soon minimalized when i clicked on the boots and saw the options available to customise the boots looks.
The options to customise the boot straps thus allow you to transform them to fit whatever outfit comes to mind. I like flexibility in clothes and shoes, it is one of the main attributes I look at when purchasing on a budget as being able to adapt for many different looks makes items seem to be much greater value for money and these boots are no exception. So if you are in the market for some nice boots, go and visit Muism and try these on today.

A Holiday Wish

Tonight marks the beginning of Hanukkah, The Festival of Lights, for some of us. I just wanted to express my sincerest best wishes to all my friends, family & dear readers of 'On Your Toes' at this special time of year. You make it a pleasure to spend time in Second Life, and no matter which holiday you are celebrating, or even if all you are celebrating is great shoe shopping, please enjoy the season and appreciate the small moments with the people you care about. Here's hoping you find all the wonderful things you deserve, now and in the year to come. ~ Anessa

For a good cause....

Hey all, this isn't a shoe post, but it is the time of year when we all reflect on the blessings we have and take the time to think more so of others, and besides that who doesn't need jewelry to go along with the awesome shoes we pair with our outfits??? So with that in mind I'd like to let you know about an event that wraps up tomorrow (December 20th) at 1pm.
Announcing the auction of four Random Calliope Limited Edition sets and one unreleased set.

The proceeds of this auction will assist two families who are facing unemployment during this Christmas season. Dig deep, bid generously, and take home a piece of Second Life history for your Christmas present. Bidding will be open through 1:00 PM SLT on Saturday, December 20 SLT at Random's WorthWhile Gallery in Ode.

The pieces that are available for auction span the length of Random Calliope's time in Second Life and show both his progression as an artist and his journey through Second Life. To read in depth about the pieces, please look at Pretty in Prims: A Retrospective of the Artful Visions of Random Calliope.

Items include: Spiral Dance which was inspired by Mae Best and released as a Limited Edition piece in August, 2005. The set consists of a necklace and earrings.

The Blonde Gatsby is a variation of The Gatsby which was created in honor of the opening of the Grand Ballroom in December 2005. The Grand Ballroom is now a part of the Crescent Moon Museum owned by Tayzia Abattoir and the Blonde Gatsby was the gift given to all the attendees of the rededication of the Museum in the fall of 2007. The set consists of bracelet, necklace, and earrings.

Passe Vuur, or Passion Flame, was inspired by Valadeza Anubis and released as a limited edition in May, 2006. The set includes bracelet, earrings, headpiece, and necklace.

Rendezvous made its debut as a limited edition in September, 2007. It is a truly exquisite piece that makes use of Random's traditional prim built diamond baguettes for the first time. The set includes bracelet, earrings, necklace, and ring (shown above).

Little Jimmy Brown is an unreleased set that was made at the same time Random created the one-of-a-kind Miss SL L’Oreal Paris 2007 Tiara. It is a beautiful combination of gold and diamonds that deserves to be placed around the neck of someone you truly cherish. The set includes a necklace and earrings.

Having these pieces come up for auction is truly a rare opportunity to own a piece of SL's culture created by one of its premiere citizens. None of these pieces have been available for over a year and it is hard to say if they will ever be available again. Do not miss this extraordinary chance to add to your Random Calliope collection and help two fellow SLers have a chance at a Christmas this year.

Bids can be made at the WorthWhile Gallery. In addition to this auction, 50% of the proceeds from purchases made at the gallery of Random's unlimited edition jewelry is donated to the Modest Needs charity, which assists people in short term financial need. This is an ongoing project, so always know that when you make a gift of a Random Calliope piece you not only make someone in SL happy but you are also helping people in real life communities throughout the United States.

For more information about this auction and Random Calliope jewelry, please contact Elizabeth Tinsley.

Visit the WorthWhile Gallery by Random Calliope.

StyleCard: REDGRAVE Girls' Biker Boots

Sometimes a girl just needs a change of attitude, and today my attitude was inspired by a song and some great boots. The boots arrived by way of Viola Leigh, the talented little dynamo who is producing footwear at a breakneck rate lately... and don't I love it! The REDGRAVE Girls' Biker Boots are just about my favorite grunged up high heeled boot to date. Well worn leather is as sexy as ever in this well shaped boot, I love the unbuckled and flopped open upper boot with it's fleecy little lining. They are the type of boot you don't want to take off, I assure you, and the early reaction I got when wearing these was huge... a must have boot in the Black or Brown, and tempting in the additional shades; Caramel, Olive, Sand & White. My humble pal Jonny reviewed the men's version here. (click pics for biggie size.)

I styled it up with the new Bijou 'Vain' set, it has a hint of great military style and sculpted short pants under a system skirt/hooded jacket combo. I added my own touches, damaged fishnet stockings from Dutch Touch (part of PuK set), Cachet Gloves, and the Tweed Flat Cap from The Hat Shop. Skin is Redgrave and Hair is Maitreya. All poses are from Oberon's Trick, a great little find. Oh, and the song is this one here, catchy huh?

Get the hawt boots at Redgrave, like now.

What a Knock Out!

The arrival of the Stiletto Moody BARE© has really stirred up a lot of discussion in the fashion community. Talk about who was first, who is or isn't revolutionary, and as usual about value for our Lindens spent. One thing I want to clarify before I launch into my review of this particular item, is the quotation provided by the Stiletto Moody team that suggests it was the first sculpted shoe in Second Life. The official press release contains the following "...the designer who brought sculpted shoes to Second Life introduces Stiletto Moody BARE ©...", at the time I included that in my Rumor Mill post I was relaying the leaked information as I had received it. And although I feel comfortable saying that Stiletto Moody is responsible for bringing the first hyper-realistic and highly detailed sculpted footwear to SL, I do believe it was not the first footwear to use sculpted components.

And now for the details of the new release, and all things considered, I do feel it warrants the buzz it has generated. We are talking about something that is a complete foot in shoe system, now i know there is something out there that has a foot and shoe, but Stiletto Moody has as always sought to go a bit further, the elegant ankle wrapped shoe, the wisp thin sole, the highest of heels, and a perfectly manicured and beautifully shaped foot and ankle are really sensational.

Something of this magnitude can only be fully realized with the special features that allow for custom skin matching, ankle fit resizing, complete toenail polish set and toe ring options, and then the usual bells and whistles associated with the SM brand. The ones shown here are the BARE Greta one of three new styles, and I found it fairly easy to match my skin tone (note these were done in a bit of a hurry, I could easily have fiddled more), and was positively blown away by the elegant look of the foot and wrapped ankle straps, the subtle shadows across the toes where the strap sits. I noticed very few glitches with the joining of the avatar body with the ankle/foot, particularly after I resized the ankle slightly. There is a nice range of shades here; Bad Seed Red, Black, Midnight, Silver, Gold and Taupe. An amazing bonus here is that these work extremely well with almost all of my standard and artistic modelling poses, the potential for photography is great here.

As with other SM releases, this one coincides with a 40% rebate at time of purchase sale for all previously released footwear. For more details on the 'Members Only' sale please join the Stiletto Moody group for access and information. (click images to enlarge.)

Rumor Mill, Part Deux!

So for anyone who might have been curious and confused by my previously posted rumor, I have some additional information that should clear up a couple misconceptions. This new info was actually based on something I spotted on flickr, you can take a peak for yourself here.

So the picture is becoming a bit clearer, and the good news for all of us it that Stiletto Moody is once again about to revolutionize the way we wear shoes in Second Life. Stiletto Moody BARE © appears to be a foot and a shoe together, not just toes but a realistic foot that can be worn in the tiniest of strappy sandals. This is going to be a photographers dream come true... are we getting excited yet?

Call Me Courtisane

They teased. They begged us to come see what the fuss was about. When the time came, it was clear; there were shoes, there is collaboration, and something new has been born. Courtisane, a name that suggests the role of the beguiling and worldly women who were more than just high class ladies of the evening, they were skilled artisans and wearers of the most avante-garde fashion, sees the joining together of Enktan Gully of Enkythings and LeeZu Baxter of LBD.

LeeZu is known for her fantastic use of color and texture, really unique style and almost experimental designs, though very wearable. Enktan is a master of construction and masterful footwear that appeals to the discerning shopper who seeks quality and beautiful shape. Together they have created a line, at this point 4 styles, that combine luscious color, great looking textiles and details and most importantly wearable high fashion footwear.

Arriving at the store yesterday I was greeted by a flock of beautiful lingerie clad models, with feathered headdresses and fans, they danced and swung flirtatiously on high wires, the entire event was very entertaining, and I left with some nice looking shoes, and a set of the lingerie LeeZu will be releasing very soon. I will be reviewing the shoes, boots and booties more closely over the next few days. But if you are curious, please go take a look at the new collection from Courtisane, today. (click on images to enlarge)

The best of the best....

Over this rather busy weekend the I was rather spoiled when I was named the Runway Magazine Male Model of the year. This rather prestigious award I was not expecting to win after I had won the Best of SL award for Top Male model, and came as a complete shock. In all though I say thankyou to Maggie and Ocean and to their panel for selecting me from all the hardworking models out there, it truly was a nice way to cap off the year. But on top of that I got to wear some new (and yet to be released) items from the amazing girls at Redgrave.

The Dirty Biker boot has been getting worked on for a while now, and as Viola promised me, I was amazed when I saw them. Having an image in your head when being told about these boots, was certainly one thing, but actually seeing them in world and the amazing realism was quite another. I have tried boots from all over, but these are among the most realistic ones I have worn in SL. I was glad that I could look at these with my new PC and graphics card (but I wish they would update SL to work better with the newest cards on the market, because other than having less lag and things I actually have more issues with crashing now than I had on my 2 year old previous machine, but enough whinging from me!)
The Redgrave Dirty Biker boots I am showing in the Night and Dirty Sand tones, howeve there is other shades such as Forest (a soft green tone), Mud (a gritty brown tone) and Soldier (army camo tone) versions. The boots come with 2 fitting options of loose and Tight fits, but I found the loose version to be easier to wear as it didn't require as much editing of the jeans. The clothes I am wearing are theRedgrave Grunge jacket with shirt and scarf, Biker gloves (1/2 finger) and Sporty-Pants Nylon/Belt in Moss Green. These items all follow the same high level of realism as the boots and it is great to see new additions to the range and I can't wait to see what else Emilia has up her creative sleeves. Also I couldn't leave the girls out and had to show my girlfriend Cynthia wearing the soon to be released Redgrave Cord-Sequin Mini DRESS -Black- which I totally adored. So if you are after some boots with a high level of realism, go and check out these boots today, I assure you wont be disapointed.

Truth: Nodmad Boots

Ok, I know I know..these boots have been popping up on lots of blogs and what-not. But just look at them, they are, in my opinion, fab. The nice foot shape coupled with the thick upper ankle, I just had to declare my own love. That's all...you know where to get them. :) Truth InWorld and OnLine.

Rumor Mill

I don't know much, and I can promise you I am doing everything I can to get the inside scoop for the 'On Your Toes' faithful. But I will share with you what I have so far... because if it is true, it might very well change footwear in SL forever.

We are all familiar with the complete FAIL of the avatar foot, I mean it is just not sexy no matter how sexy a shoe is, there are those wacky looking Fred Flintstone, lump of clay dealies on the end of your lovely curvaceous legs. So here's the rumor as it hit me... "the designer who brought sculpted shoes to SL is about to up the ante...to change the game with the sexiest foot in shoe".

Is it possible that very soon what is 'On My Toes' will be not just toes... but full on feet?

3-Ways and the 'F Word'

Now that I have your attention, we can talk about what is really going on here. Firstly, Miss Tesla Miles has surfaced, and she has brought shoes with her. TESLA will soon be releasing the High Oxfords, and for a girl who has been wearing so many boots lately, I am pleased to review some shoes again. The Oxfords are a great looking shoe too, with a moderate platform, chunky heel and lace-up upper. These multi-tonal shoes are almost chameleon-like in their ability to work with a variety of items in your wardrobe. And they also lend themselves to multiple styles of dressing. I am illustrating 3 unique looks; Classic, Casual & Club Wear... 3 ways, get it? (click images to see larger size.)

With 12 amazing pairs on the menu; Gold, Bronze, Berry, Black, Blue, Chocolate, Jade, Olive, Purple, Scarlet, Snow and Teal, you might just be better off using the F word... Fatpack. I don't throw that word around lightly, but if this is a style of shoe that appeals to you I do not see how you can go wrong. Lovers of slightly metallic colors and hand tooled leather details should be in heaven by the weekend... Tesla's scheduled release for these cuties.

Please visit TESLA and look for the High Oxfords.

The stuff; Classic - Redgrave Skin, MMS Hair, Shai Blouse, Cachet Skirt, Battered Boudoir Hosiery, Paper Couture Earrings, TESLA High Oxfords in Berry. Casual - Redgrave Skin, DejaVu Hair, amerie's Naughty Sweater, Muism Jeans, Earrings by LUCE, Flat Cap by The Hat Shop, TESLA High Oxfords in Bronze. Club Wear - Redgrave Skin, Armidi Hair, Armidi Leather Vest, GiMa Mini dress, Shop Seu Rolled Stockings, Untone Belt, Soon to be released Bracelets by Fresh Baked Goods, Earrings by LUCE, TESLA HIgh Oxfords in Gold.

StyleCard: COCO

Occasionally I do bonehead things, like the time I messaged COCO Creator Cocoro Lemon to inform her that there was a problem with her sculpties... only to discover the problem was because I had not yet updated my SL viewer. But as soon as I did, I was very impressed by the quality of her work, amazing little ski vests and dresses, I am really a big fan. When I saw the update indicating a footwear release, well, you know I had to run right over and grab a pair of COCO's Suede Booties in blue and the adorable BritGirl Yellow Plaid Suit I had been eyeing for a while.

The Booties are very well crafted and textured, lovely rich suede, and they come in a nice range of equally inviting shades. Nice rounded toes and an over sized buckle on the ankle, I really liked the pop of contrast piping on the edges for extra style. The suit itself can be worn all together as I have done here, or the layers can be worn separately. The prim collar and roll cuffs are, again, very nicely crafted. I added the just released hat/hair from Muism and the Saphyre Gem Ring (not visible) from Paper Couture for a little bit of sparkle.

Check out COCO, you won't regret it!

A year and 3 days!

Can you believe it was a year ago (plus 3 days) since this lil ole blog debuted? I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who follows the blog for sticking with us. Most importantly to Anessa for being a FANTASTIC shoe blogger. Special thanks to Jonny T for helping us out from time to time, and to one of the original authors, Joel E., you aren't forgotten. So for old time's sake I thought I'd finally send out the O.Y.T.'s chrismas card from last year...for some reason it didn't get out last year....Until next post!

StyleCard: Kitties Lair London Boots

It was an amazing and busy weekend, but I did manage to sneak in a little bit of shopping. One of my stops was to Kitties Lair where I often find great footwear, sure enough a new release from the lovely Babette Ultsch, the London Boots. The London Boots are a pumped up ankle boot with a great rolled down cuff that features and inside zip and an outside row of buttons, all balancing on the skinniest of stilettos. I also like the look of the silver tipped toe. They come in all the basic shades, and some nice fabrications; leather, patent & textile, so it's possible to find something to suit your tastes.

My other big find of the weekend was shoparmidi.com, which had some great new Armidi goodies not available in the store. My top fave was the Polo Dress, this one in Black and Grey Argyle... very easy to wear and great prim work. The belt from the Lulu set by MichaMi seemed to fit well and the woolen tights from Persona added warmth. I added bracelets, the stacked bangles from Caroline's and my new favorite little accessory shop U&R Dogs Dorothy Bracelet.

Check out Kitties Lair for these great looking boots.

sk8tr girl

Weeee! I am Canadian, that should mean I grew up in skates, and I did, but most of that time was spent waiting to get them laced up along with my siblings, driving to the arena or frozen lake, and then inevitably on my backside trying to catch up to all the really cool girls in my class that were lucky enough to get figure skating lessons. So anyways, here in SL I am so blissfully free of all the negative parts of the experience, and can fully enjoy myself, just open a folder, wear, and TP to the virtual rink of your choice for a full on Sasha Cohen experience, with the exception of the fugly freebie skates.

Thanks to Bax Coen, I can now say that my winter dream is complete. An extremely over the top stiletto style boot skate, laced up and ready for action. It is pure white, like any good skate ought to be (though I wouldn't mind a set of Pink faux-Angora boot warmers like the girls in school had). These come with the very necessary built in skating AO, which will have you gliding like a pro in no time, but can be used with your own AO or skating animations if you turn that option off, they are also sizable for a custom fit. Ahhh, sweet love!

Be sure and lace-up and join the Bax Boots Crew for this afternoon's Winter Party, a fun reason to get together and enjoy the start of a fantastic season... 4:00PM SLT today!

See you there! CLICK FOR TP

Sexy in Red

Another sexy ankle boot release from Bax Coen's Bax Boots, this time in hot Red Patent. If you are familiar with these amazing boots and all their options and features you will be pleased to know they all turn up again in this boot. For those who may have missed it, I am referring to the customizable aspects of the boot... metals, laces, trims, toppers, sizing, and so on. I have to thank Azufr3 Catteneo for his assistance in creating the fantastic image to accompany this blog post, apparently candy apple red patent leather can inspire a man to do all sorts of things.

Bax has more treats in store for us, a Winter Party is planned for December 5, 2008 at 4PM SLT, at Bax's Main Store. Get your Boots there, and join the fun!

StyleCard: Enkythings Cypa

It's been a while since I have had the pleasure of reviewing something from veteran footwear creator Enktan Gully. Enkythings latest release, the Cypa Boots, are a nice blend of classic fitted leather boot and some interesting textures and patterns. The boots come in a standard size, a rather slim fitting one, but gladly include an XL and XXL calf piece if you do not wish to modify your shape to suit the boot. I wound up in the XL size, and as you can see, I had some fun trying on the many combinations... multiple styles available in the black, and an additional ones in the brown (not all are shown below).

I love the use of textiles in these boots, not something we see very often, they seem to lend themselves well to mix and match dressing, using the palate of the calf portion to inspire an outfit. I loved the combination of black and rich red-brown and decided to create a comfy casual look that echoes those shades. Starting with my favorite denims du jour from MUISM, and this chunky sweater from Skin Flicks, I pulled the belt off of my AOHARU Madras Check Shirt Dress. The hat/hair combo is a cute color change dealie from WAKA & Yuki and I added the polished wood hoop earrings from Paper Couture as the finishing touch.

Ready to go visit Enkythings for a closer look?

The Stuff; Redgrave Skin, WAKA & Yuki Hair/Hat, Skin Flicks Sweater, MUISM Jeans, AOHARU Belt. Paper Couture Earrings.

StyleCard: J's Thigh Highs

There are certain areas of SL fashion where I rarely venture... these would include the fetish gear, latex, rubber, etc. But sometimes an item can crossover into the other areas of virtual fashion, and be unexpected treats for the occasional RP or themed party. When JB Gazov of J's Boots sent me 2 variations of his latest Thigh High Boots, I wasn't really sure what to make of them. They are sexy, they are high, and they really show how far the clever use of the 'system shoe' has come in the past couple years. With a beautifully shaped foot piece and wrinkled ankle prim these hardly look like any system shoe I have ever seen, but the great texturing of the leg portion which is part of that system shoe and the added bow make these a nice pair of sexies.

The boots come in 2 variation as previously mentioned, a Lace-up and Non-laced version. Though I expect this type of boot lends itself well to the fetish fashion world, I chose to take mine in the direction of 'Future Sexy' . The great corset and mini skirt from Mekanoize Labs (hey, where did they go?) and the upper part of the Bare Rose Decadence Maia Silver Jacket were just the thing. I added my new favorite hair, Shirley from Zero Style and headed to INSILICO for a few pics.

Visit J's Boots to pick up a pair.

The stuff; Redgrave Skin, Zero Style Hair, Bare Rose Jacket, Corset and Mini from Mekanoize Labs.
