Inspiration for a new outfit can come from many sources; a mood, a color, a great pair of shoes... and oh yes, a great little bag. Sometimes the pieces don't come together all at once, but I am constantly collecting bags whenever I find one that is a little special, and sometimes the pieces fall into place just like that. My taste in purses, bags and clutches is as eclectic as the rest of my wardrobe, running the gamut between practicality, fashionability and whimsical cuteness.
The little hedgehog clutch by Snowboa, was a Marketplace find and I was thrilled to see the level of detail was as good as the picture made it look. This sweet little thing haunted me, wanting to find just the right outfit to wear it with. When I saw the latest little cocktail dresses released at Eaters Coma, my memory for color kicked in and I just knew I had found the right thing. I added a few darker touches, the little bolero sweater from Innoc, and these perfect Ren lace-up boots from LeLutka, and the result was as cute as the clutch.
The Jewel toned and chunky gold accented stud bag from Swallow was the next gem to make the cut. I found the button down shirt from House of Fox, the gold studded collar was a perfect match. I pulled out more color from the bag with the cute skirt from Whippet & Buck, the tights from Koda and even the laces on the my G Field boots became and accessory. I gave myself bonus points for the color matched lipstick and chunky gold jewelry, and cute hair from DeLa.
The Cala Seona bag from YS&YS has always been a favorite, I can't resist the touch of the contents of the bag peeking out. It was a bit of a chicken and egg riddle pulling this look together, I fell in love with the new trench from Mon Tissu, I opted for the bright blue color and then remembered the amazing Fame Pumps from LeLutka, a marriage of the right colors for the bag and trench, I needed just the right bottom to go under the coat, and the Celoe Nikka skirt was a great option. The final touch, the sunglasses from Yummy (worn up), made for a great unexpected accessory on an outfit that would have gotten a bit too 'old' with the addition of a necklace or scarf.
