Sun Blocked

When it comes to catching some rays, the best policy is always to protect your skin. A hat, some sunglasses, and a bit of sunscreen goes a long way to protecting those gorgeous SL skins. How fitting is it that so many recent releases seem to cater to the sunny escape, at least the ones at My Attic, and the great new Gogo from LeLutka with its big floppy sunhat.

 

You can just feel the warmth, sitting atop the Towel prop from W. Winx & Flair, with a fun sunset print, the same print as the great Slink Enhanced Hand Add-Ons from Flair, both are available at the current round of My Attic at The Deck, as are the shades by Amala! The dress by Maitreya has a great sarong feel, that makes it a more formal version of a beach cover-up.

The Shoes featured in this post are more absolutely gorgeous original mesh creations designed by Belgravia which are designed to work with the  equally wonderful Slink feet. I cannot begin to tell you how proud I am to wear these shoes, and to know that at the heart of this collaboration, and that is what it is when two designers come together to create great truly original content,  is the ingenuity that Second Life should celebrate. Something fresh and light, like wearing all white, is a great way to energize your outlook. But one cannot miss the opportunity to let colored accessories shine! By adding the latest leather and semi-precious jewelled bib necklace and earrings from Mandala and finishing off with the bold coral red shoes from Belgravia, an all white outfit can really be the fresh blank canvas for your creativity and passion to shine through.

I don't usually use On Your Toes to promote my own releases for DCNY, but I am making an exception, and I hope you won't judge me too harshly for breaking my own rules. Just The Essentials

Essentially speaking, there are a few things you just need to have to make a great wardrobe, or in SL, that great go-to outfit that will work for almost any occasion. Case in point, this relaxed and easy collection of essential items that you wouldn't really think work together, but they do!

Neutral colors, black basics and modern accessories, and some great new shoes too, that is what my look is comprised of today. The Black Blazer, newly released by The Secret Store for FaMESHed, is a great way to add versatility to your outfit, wearing it over a great neutral colored dress by Maitreya, it is a easy way to change up a day look for a more nightlife ready style, just by removing the Blazer.

  

These great sunglasses by Kumaki, are a sneak peek at an exclusive new release for 'The 100 Block' Event, scheduled to open on May 10th, everyone needs their sunglasses, and these come with multiple color options, I just love them. Also from the land of color change awesomeness are the latest footwear released by Redgrave, I am completely in love with all of their most recent shoes, but these may just be my favorite! Right Here Waiting

I've been riding a bit of a roller coaster lately, trying to figure out some things, and perhaps putting myself first for once, maybe even realizing my own worth. I am grateful to the people that have inspired me to make some positive changes, and even if they aren't able to be with me every day, the days in between are better because they are part of my life now. Waiting for the good days to come back again, is so worth it, and distractions such as beautiful new releases make the time pass really quickly.

 

Case in point, Celoe newness, another gloriously crafted sandal, this one is a little bit rock and roll, and a whole lot of detail that makes them work well with many styles. A signature 'C' dangles from your ankle chain, available in gold and silver tones, leather of various colors combined with the metal decorations make for a really great shoe. I adore bright colors, but today I fell in love with the look of the gold and black combination, and it was a great compliment to this very dramatic body-con dress from Belgravia. A few pieces of Maxi Gossamer jewelry and all is right with the world with this sleek and sexy outfit.

 

No matter how long you have to wait for good things to come back into your life and great new designs from our SL creators, you can be sure of one thing... I will be right here waiting. (details below)

Making A Statement...

Chapter Three: The Trendsetter

Beautifully built, meticulously designed, now that you have that beautiful shoe it is time to show it off! Getting those shoes onto the feet of celebrities and fashionistas is one way to get the word out about a fantastic new release. You are looking for that certain kind of girl, the one that loves color and will give those shoes the attention they deserve by wearing an eye popping combination of style with pizazz.  Once the general public gets a glimpse of those shoes they will be clamouring to get a pair of their own.

 

The Marilyn Sandals by Gos Boutique come in lots of great colors, not so many that you will be tortured in making a decision, but enough that you will consider getting them all! As described in my previous post on this sexy sandal, the Marilyn comes in a classic collection of solids and an exotic collection that combines the best of animal print and neutral leather. My favorite classic is definitely this bright orchid pink, they were the starting point for my whole look, and dictated the fun mix of colorful brights. That is one of the greatest things about shoes, sometimes they are the start of a great outfit and sometimes they are the perfect finishing touch! Into Temptation

There I was thinking I was done with blogging for the day, when suddenly I saw them; tall, shapely, sexy, sculptural, and definitely Celoe. I was tempted to stop everything I was doing and slip into these delicious new platform sandals from Celoe, simply called Amae. They come in so many gorgeous solid colors and even a great collection of two tone variations, I settled on a combination of the black and red, called depth and heat... even the names of the colors are a bit exciting, right?

I wrapped myself in the sumptuous silky trench style dress from Belgravia, threw my hair up into a Judy Jetson-ish updo and added a few hot accessories from Maxi Gossamer and BenS Beauty. The new Ava skin from Belleza is back again, this time with a glossy lip in what else... red. As for the features of the shoes, they come with the usual bells and whistles you can expect, all in a very user friendly Mayfair HUD. As a bonus you get three metal options for the rivets and buckles; gold, silver and black. I am sure you will be seeing more of these very soon, in all sorts of places. Counting Down

It is almost here... and I expect it has already arrived for many of you. What a great year 2012 was for SL fashion, and in particular mesh fashion. Living In Color

Just when I had resigned myself to the upcoming Winter doldrums, two fantastic designers made me do a 180, with incredible brights and fun designs. I was inspired to play up a hint of Burlesque, maybe it was the frothy fluffy fur hats and collars by Maxi Gossamer, out today at Collabor88, or the circa 1980s brights of Maitreya Gold's latest release, Liaison.

 

I do love a fun hat, and the colors of these seemed just perfect to inject a little energy rush into my blog post. Maxi Gossamer didn't stop with a great hat, she gave us the collars too, they can certainly be worn together or split up for a little less 'look', and as always Maxi maximizes the value of her creations by offering us 2 shades per pack, that is two hats and two collars for that great Collabor88 price. I was so lucky to get in a grab them the first day.

 

Another designer that consistently gives you more than one look per purchase is Maitreya, especially when it comes to items in her Maitreya Gold footwear series. Once again Onyx LeShelle gives us the 'Transformers' of shoes, it is a pump with a super sexy slim metal heel, but it also can be an ankle strap pump, or one with a knit half sock (with or without the ankle strap), and the colors range from great neutrals to neon brights. You also get a healthy range of sock colors and even a selection of sole colors. Such great value!

Slightly Frosted

Is it that time of year already? Even if the first taste of Winter hasn't reached your locale yet, you can rest assured that it is coming on quickly in SL. People have started rezzing their log cabins and covering the ground with snow, and why not? What better way is there to enjoy the beginning of blustery SL Fashion than sprinkling a little snow all around and making the best of it all.

 

I am one of those who rushed right out and found an excuse to bundle up. It all started with a windy walk that found me without a coat, but with loads of new releases. Leverocci's Belgravia just had a massive season release, included among the good were this Bluet satiny ruffled blouse and sexy Foxglove boots, the color palette is rich and luxurious, like the wine color I selected. The recently released Decoy Yori skirt is a great little mini, worn over some black Maitreya tights, and a windblown skinny scarf (also Maitreya), that matches the great editorial hairstyle from LeLutka. The cute little clutch with wrist strap is from Baiastice, and oldie from the 'B Attitude' collection.

 

Time to bundle up with a new coat from !gO! a new to me label that has some great rigged mesh pieces. This furry jacket has a generous fluffy collar and a suede waist tie. The jacket comes in some great colors, and is a great way to warm up your look. The furry Cosack hat is another special item from Belgravia, I wore it with the LeLutka Marie hair, and by downsizing the hair I was able to fit it well under the hat. Other items worn here are the Milano trousers from Baiastice, Maitreya Devi boots, some beaded necklaces and a generous sized ring from Maxi Gossamer, and a cute plum colored bag from the old Cachet collection.
